Local Weather is an online weather forecast service dedicated to mainland France and overseas territories. It provides live weather and detailed forecasts for thousands of municipalities, organized by region and department.
Project goal
The goal of Local Weather is to make local weather information accessible to everyone, quickly and without friction. Whether users are looking for their hometown, a major city, or want to explore an entire region, the site offers direct access to current conditions and upcoming forecasts, with a level of detail suited to everyday use.
The service is designed as a decision-support tool for planning the day, preparing a trip, or simply finding out what the weather is like where you are or where you are headed.
Key features
Search and quick access
A smart search bar helps users find a city, postal code, department, or region after typing just a few characters. A geolocation button automatically redirects to the nearest city.
Live weather
Each city page displays current conditions: temperature, feels-like temperature, humidity, wind, precipitation, visibility, and cloud cover. Data is updated regularly to reflect the most recent information available.
Detailed forecasts
Users can view forecasts for today and tomorrow, with a breakdown by time of day (morning, afternoon, evening, night) or an hour-by-hour view. A 15-day outlook helps anticipate medium-term trends, including minimum and maximum temperatures, rainfall totals, wind, and humidity.
Sun and moon
City pages include sunrise and sunset times, moonrise and moonset times, and moon phase information to complement the weather reading throughout the day.
Territorial navigation
The territory is organized hierarchically: regions, departments, and municipalities. The homepage highlights France's twelve largest cities, while dedicated pages let users browse all regions and discover the main cities in each area.

The site covers all French regions and departments, both mainland and overseas, with a weather page for every listed municipality. This nationwide coverage makes it a single entry point for checking the weather anywhere in France.
