Project overview
This site is an online directory of local services and information for French towns and cities. It brings together in one place the businesses, public services, opening hours, contacts and useful addresses for each locality, so that residents and visitors can quickly find the information they need.
Objective
The aim is to make local information easier to access by centralising essential data per town: town hall and administration, local businesses, public services (schools, health, transport), leisure and culture. The site provides free, clear and reliable access to this information for everyone.
Main features
Search and access to localities
A search bar lets users find a town by name or postcode, with real-time suggestions. A geolocation option redirects the user to the page of the nearest town. The full list of localities can be browsed with filters by region, department or letter.
Town pages
Each town has a dedicated page listing all local businesses and services, with filters by category. Major cities are highlighted for quick access.
Category browsing
Businesses and services are organised by category (town hall, shops, public services, leisure, etc.). Users can browse by category then narrow by town, or the other way around.
Detail pages
Each business and public service has a detail page with opening hours, address, contact details and a map to locate the establishment.
Blog
A blog section offers articles about towns and local life, with navigation by category, tags and authors, and a dedicated search.
What users can do
Users can search for their town or postcode, or use geolocation to go straight to their locality. They can browse the list of towns with filters, open a town page to see all businesses and services, filter by type of activity, open detail pages for opening hours, address and contact, view establishments on a map, explore by category then by town, and read blog articles for local news and tips.
User experience
The flow is designed to be simple and direct: from the homepage, search or geolocation leads in a few clicks to the chosen town. The town page presents information in a clear structure, with category filters to quickly find the right type of service. Detail pages group practical information and a map for orientation. Breadcrumbs and clear navigation make it easy to switch town or category. A frequently asked questions section on the homepage answers common questions. All content is free to access, with an emphasis on verified data to build trust.
